Review: A “Beautiful” Read

Beautiful PlayerBeautiful Player

By Christina Lauren

A bombshell bookworm. A chronic Casanova. And a lesson in chemistry too scandalous for school.”

My Rating: 3.5/5 3.5 stars

Ever since I bought my first Kindle a few years ago, I have recently gotten back into reading books. Honestly, it’s so much easier for me to have digital copies because I can take them literally anywhere and have access to my entire library with the flick of my fingertip. Anyway, I stumbled upon this book over the weekend and I thought “what the hell”.

I read this book in about two days and I couldn’t stop reading it. I found myself up at 3 o’clock in the morning (on a work night). The dual stories paint a very detailed story about this dynamic relationship between Hanna and Will.

Hanna is the youngest sister of Jensen, Will’s best friend, and she’s all DRIVE. She’s a workaholic, hell-bent on getting through Grad school and accelerating her career in the Science industry. Her introverted personality makes her impossible to understand with her unfiltered mouth and general lack of experience in the human world. So when her overprotective big brother decides to intervene and force her into the world to “Get A Life” under the guise of Dr. Will Sumner (known to be a playboy from her teenage years) – Hanna decides that she will get everyone off her back by attacking this like anything else in her life – head on.

Will Sumner, now 31 year old successful scientist, is starting to feel like the life of a playboy is getting old and becoming less fulfilling by the day. When Jensen convinces Will to take “Ziggy” (Hanna) under his wing, he soon discovers that there is more to life than just good sex.

The relationship between Will and Hanna is absolutely electric! Much sooner than later, these two decide to take their new-found friendship to the next level the sparks fly and crackle in the sky immediately! While Hanna is trying to play the part of the “player”, Will is slowly losing his mind over his sudden wave of feelings he’s developing for Hanna. Will struggles to contain his feelings for his best friend’s kid sister but the closer she gets to him – the more he falls in love with her.

While I could totally relate to Hanna’s story, I enjoyed the evolution of Will’s perception of what life should truly be about and what he needed more than anything else – true love…

If you like steamy romances, hot sex scenes and complete chaos – this is the book for you to read over the weekend. Purchase it out on Amazon today!
